  • New debit card(s) will be issued and mailed to you. These cards are intended for use starting September 15. Instructions on activation and new PIN set up will be included with your card.

Monday, September 15

  • Once activated, you may begin using your new debit card(s).
  • Old debit cards will no longer be active, should be destroyed, and would be declined if used.
  • If you have recurring payments tied to your debit card, you will need to contact those companies to provide your new card information.
  • If you have your old debit card(s) in a digital wallet or are using it as payment method on shopping sites or apps, update your card information with your new debit card number.

Compounding and Crediting. Interest will be compounded and credited to your account monthly, except for the Advantage Savings account which is credited quarterly. If you close your account before interest is credited, you will not receive the accrued interest. What is a systems upgrade?

A systems upgrade is the process of improving and modernizing the technology we use to manage your accounts, process transactions, and deliver services. This upgrade will include enhancements to our debit cards, online and mobile banking platforms and internal systems. The goal is to provide you with a more secure, efficient, and user-friendly banking experience—now and in the future.

Why is Volunteer Bank going through a systems upgrade?

As part of our commitment to deliver the most exceptional banking services in Middle Tennessee, Volunteer Bank will upgrade to a new core banking system. This transformation is designed to provide you with a more seamless, secure, and modern banking experience. With faster service, enhanced digital tools, and greater flexibility, you’ll enjoy improved access and convenience—so you can continue to bank with confidence today and into the future. It’s all part of our ongoing promise to better serve you and support your financial goals.

When will the systems upgrade happen?

Our systems upgrade will begin on Friday, September 12. While a few services may be briefly unavailable over the weekend of September 12-14, rest assured everything will be back up and running on Monday, September 15—better than ever! Will there be any new Volunteer Bank branches I can visit?

Yes, beginning September 15, you’ll have access to three additional banking locations—bringing our total to 17 convenient branches. The new branch locations are listed below.

Will I continue to have free ATM Access?

Yes, you will continue to enjoy free ATM access through our branch locations and MoneyPass® network. To easily find participating MoneyPass®  ATMs near you or visit www.moneypass.com. Please note: the MoneyPass® network replaces the NYCE network, providing access to a larger network of ATMs—an upgrade designed to enhance your banking experience.

Will products and services change?

Yes, as part of the systems upgrade process, some products and services will be updated with new account names and enhanced features to better serve you. As a Volunteer Bank customer, you will continue to enjoy access to a wide variety of banking products—and even more options moving forward. Will my statement cycle change?

Yes, account statement cycles will be updated as part of our systems upgrade. Going forward:

  • Consumer accounts will have statement cycles ending on the 15th (checking) and last business day (savings/money market) of each month.
  • Commercial accounts will have statement cycles ending on the last business day of each month.

Will telephone banking service continue?

No, while our 24-hour telephone banking service will be retired September 12, we’re excited to introduce enhanced digital banking tools designed to serve you even better. Online & Mobile Banking FAQ

Should I expect any updates to my online banking?

Yes, we will be converting to our new online and mobile banking systems during the weekend of September 12. Online banking will be unavailable starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, and is expected to be back online by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this upgrade.

Will I need to delete my current mobile app and download a new one?

Yes, please delete your current Volunteer Bank Mobile app prior to Monday, September 15. Starting after 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, customers currently using mobile banking will need to download the new Volunteer Bank app on their devices to continue accessing their accounts.

Will I need to update my password on the new “Volunteer Bank” mobile app?

Yes, you will be required to reset your password as part of our enhanced security measures. We will provide detailed instructions and support as we approach our systems upgrade weekend to ensure a smooth transition.

Will my mobile deposit limit change?

For personal accounts, the mobile deposit limit will not change. It will remain $2,500.For commercial accounts, the mobile deposit limit will increase to $10,000.

Will my online Bill Pay payee information transfer?

Personal Customers: Yes, your payees and any scheduled payments will automatically transfer to the new system. Once you log in to online banking, please review your Bill Pay information to ensure everything transferred correctly. Please note: only payees set up in the Bill Pay system as of Thursday, September 11 will be included in the transfer.

Business Customers: For most business customers, all Bill Pay and payee information will seamlessly transfer to our new and improved Business Bill Pay platform—making the transition easy and efficient. For commercial clients using Treasury Management services such as ACH, wires, Positive Pay, or Remote Deposit Capture, Business Bill Pay will no longer be included. However, these services offer advanced payment and cash management tools designed to meet the complex needs of your business with greater efficiency and control.

Will I have access to my online banking transaction history?

Yes, if you are registered for online banking, after the systems upgrade you will have access to your transaction history for the current calendar year and the previous year.

Will my online Bill Pay history transfer?

Personal Customers: Yes, bill payment history will be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15.

Business Customers: For most business customers, your Bill Pay history will transfer to the new Business Bill Pay and be available starting Monday, September 15. Commercial clients using Treasury Management services (ACH, wires, Positive Pay, RDC) will transition to more advanced payment solutions, and as a result, Business Bill Pay history will not carry over. We recommend downloading any past records you wish to retain before the transition.

Will my scheduled online bill payments and recurring payments transfer?

Yes, your scheduled online bill payments will be transferred as part of the systems upgrade. Commercial clients utilizing Treasury Management services (ie: ACH, wire, positive pay, and RDC) will not have business Bill Pay going forward. Please review them once you log in to the new system to ensure everything is accurate.

Will the alerts I have set up in online banking (ex. low balance, merchant, type of transaction) carry over?

No, online banking alerts will not transfer automatically and will need to be reestablished after the update. We recommend reviewing your account alerts before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, and noting any alerts you wish to continue using. For your convenience, please consider taking screenshots or printing your current alert settings to have a reference when setting them up again.

Will my eStatements still be available?

Yes, if you’re enrolled in eStatements, you will continue to receive them electronically. We aim to have your last two years of statements available by September 15, though there may be a brief delay the week following the systems upgrade. To ensure immediate access during the transition, please print or save any statements you may need before September 12.

Will I have to change my account numbers?

Can I use my current checks?

Yes, you may continue using your current supply of checks and preprinted deposit slips.

How long can I continue to use my debit card?

You may continue using your current debit card through September 14. New cards will be issued and mailed prior to September 5. Once received, your new card may be activated; however, please do not begin using it until September 15. Please note that temporary transaction limits will be in effect on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14. Standard limits will resume on September 15, once you begin using your new debit card.

Will my debit card number stay the same?

No, you’ll be receiving a new personal or business debit card, and it will come with a new card number. Once your new card is activated, you’ll be ready to use it starting September 15. Be sure to update any recurring payments with your new card details when the time comes.

Will my debit card limits change?

The daily Point-of-Sale (POS) transaction limit will remain $5,000 and the daily ATM withdrawal limit will increase to $800.

Will my debit card PIN change?

Yes, since you’ll be receiving a new debit card, you’ll also need to set up a new PIN. However, you may choose to use the same PIN as your previous card if you’d like. Instructions on how to do this will be included with your card. It’s a simple process, and we’re here to help if you need any assistance.I have automatic drafts set up on my accounts.

Will they transfer?

Yes, all of your automatic drafts and recurring payments will transfer seamlessly—however, as a best practice, please review once you log in to the new system to ensure everything is accurate. Everything will continue to process just as it does today, so you can have peace of mind knowing your payments will stay on track.

Will I need to change my direct deposit, social security disbursements or any other automatic payments?

No, the ABA routing number for Volunteer Bank will remain the same.

Will Kasasa products continue after conversion?

All Kasasa products will end September 14. If you have a Kasasa account today it will transfer to a new account as noted on page 11. We have created a new set of products that have less restrictions—making it easier to earn a competitive interest rate, while also providing key features and enhanced functionality that you deserve.

How does the new statement cycle impact my last Kasasa account statement?

The last statement cycle for Kasasa Cash and Cash Back accounts will end September 12. September qualification cycles are shortened and will end on September 10 instead of September 19. If you meet the qualification criteria for higher interest, cash back, and ATM refunds by September 10 or you previously met criteria in July or August 2025, you will receive September rewards.

Will Volunteer Club and Club 55 account holder membership benefits continue after conversion?

No, all membership benefits end September 14. However, safe deposit box discounts and Certificate of Deposit interest rate bumps will be honored through the next renewal or maturity date.

Will my loan number stay the same?

Yes, your loan number(s) will stay the same.

Will automatic loan payments from my account continue?

Yes, your automatic loan payments will continue uninterrupted. While no action is expected on your part, we recommend reviewing your payment details after the systems upgrade to ensure everything is accurate and up-to-date. If you notice anything unusual, our team will be happy to assist you.

Will the terms of my loan or line of credit change?

No, the terms of your loan and/or credit line will remain the same.

Will I be able to continue to send my loan payments to the same location?

Yes, loan payments should continue to be mailed to:Volunteer Bank, PO Box 7897, Portland, TN 37148.

Will there be any changes to my Volunteer Bank personal credit card?

No, your card number will remain the same.

Will I continue to use my HELOC (home equity line of credit) checks?

Effective September 15, HELOC checks will no longer be used to make advances on your line of credit. Instead, you will be able to access funds through the new online banking platform, providing a faster and more secure way to manage your HELOC.

No, your business account number(s) will not change.

Will I receive a new business debit card?

Yes, you will receive a new business debit card, and it will be issued and mailed before September 5. Once you receive your new card, you may activate it immediately; however, please do not use it until September 15. You can continue using your current card through September 14 without interruption. Please note that temporary transaction limits will be in place on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14. Can I use my current business checks?
