Community Banking Leaders Russell Creech and Garth Bentley Join Volunteer Bank

Together, they bring over 40 years of combined experience in banking, lending, and community leadership—further reinforcing the bank’s commitment to delivering exceptional service across the region. Both lifelong residents of Rutherford County, Creech and Bentley are respected leaders with long-standing ties to the community and trusted client relationships.
Creech joins as senior vice president, relationship manager and branch manager, with more than 25 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining Volunteer, Creech spent 18 years at Pinnacle Financial Partners, most recently as senior vice president, office leader and financial advisor. There, he led customer service teams, sales, and lending operations—driving sustained growth, developing future leaders, and establishing a track record for delivering outstanding client experiences. In his new role, Creech continues to leverage his proficiencies in both retail and business banking, serving a broad client base while overseeing daily branch operations. His professional background spans business development, consumer and commercial lending, and team leadership—making him a versatile and trusted advisor to both customers and colleagues alike. His impact extends beyond the office through support and community involvement with organizations such as United Way, the American Heart Association, Toys for Tots, and Habitat for Humanity—demonstrating his passion for giving back and making a meaningful difference.
Bentley joins Volunteer Bank as senior vice president, relationship manager, bringing over 23 years of banking knowledge, with a specialized focus in commercial lending. He most recently served as senior vice president, commercial loan officer at Pinnacle Financial Partners, where he built the majority of his distinguished career. Known for building lasting partnerships, Bentley has consistently delivered customized, strategic solutions to meet the evolving needs of businesses across Middle Tennessee. In addition to his client-facing work, Bentley’s experience in credit analysis gives him a well-rounded understanding of the full credit life cycle, allowing him to structure thoughtful, effective financial strategies that help clients grow and thrive. In his new role, Bentley manages a diverse portfolio of business clients, providing financial solutions tailored to their unique goals. He combines his expertise in credit, underwriting, and client management with a thorough understanding of his clients’ industries— delivering value that extends well beyond traditional banking services. Outside of his professional accomplishments, Bentley is a dedicated community leader. He has served as treasurer of TN Beta for over two decades, is the current president and longtime board member of the Discovery Center and is a past president of Stones River Country Club. He has also served on the Board of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. Bentley’s proven leadership, industry aptitude, and commitment to his community make him a valued member of the Volunteer Bank team and the broader region.
