Introducing Lawrence Bank

One Bank. Two Brands.

Stronger Together: Volunteer Bank and F&M Bank United As Lawrence Bank

For decades, Volunteer Bank and F&M Bank have proudly served Middle Tennessee communities as family-owned community banks with personalized service and local decision-making. For the past seven years, Volunteer and F&M have operated as affiliate banks under the ownership of Gaylon M. Lawrence, Jr., the sole shareholder. Now, we’re excited to share an important milestone in our shared future: effective January 1, 2026, Volunteer Bank and F&M Bank have legally consolidated under a single charter—Lawrence Bank.

ABOUT LAWRENCE BANK

Lawrence Bank was formed to bring together two privately owned, affiliate banks—Volunteer Bank and F&M Bank—each with a long history of service in Middle Tennessee. Under a single charter, Lawrence Bank establishes clear alignment and a shared vision, empowering each to continue serving their local communities with the distinct, trusted brands they’ve built over decades.

This unification allows us to combine resources and expertise while preserving the local relationships, decision-making, and community commitment that have long defined Volunteer Bank and F&M Bank. Together under Lawrence Bank, we are shaping a future of strength and service for our customers, employees, and communities—honoring a legacy that has guided Middle Tennessee for generations and ensuring it continues to inspire and support those to come.

CUSTOMER FAQ

Will the bank change names?

While Volunteer Bank will legally transition to Lawrence Bank, the Volunteer name and branding will remain in local markets. This preserves our legacy of nearly 50 years, while ensuring you continue to receive the same trusted service and commitment you’ve always relied on.

Can I use F&M branches as a Volunteer customer?

For now, you’ll continue to use the Volunteer branches you utilize today. Following F&M’s integration into our core system, expected mid-2026, you will be able to conduct business at any Volunteer or F&M branch location.

What happens to my FDIC insurance if I have deposits at both Volunteer Bank and F&M Bank?

While Volunteer and F&M will continue to market themselves under their historic brands, they have combined into one bank on January 1, 2026. Deposit accounts opened at F&M, a Lawrence Bank prior to January 1, 2026, will be separately insured from deposits at Volunteer, a Lawrence Bank until June 30, 2026. This six-month grace period allows you the opportunity to restructure your accounts if necessary. Deposit accounts opened at F&M, a Lawrence Bank on or after January 1, 2026, may not be separately insured. Certificates of Deposit (CDs) at F&M, a Lawrence Bank dated prior to January 1, 2026, are separately insured until the earliest maturity date after June 30, 2026. CDs that mature between January 1, 2026, and June 30, 2026, and that are renewed for the same term and in the same dollar amount will continue to be separately insured until the first maturity date after June 30, 2026. If a CD matures on any other basis or is not renewed or becomes a regular savings or demand account, it will only be separately insured until June 30, 2026. After these grace periods, your deposit at the Volunteer division of Lawrence Bank will be combined with your deposit accounts at the F&M division for purposes of deposit insurance coverage.
