NASHVILLE, Tenn. – July 21, 2026 – Volunteer, a Lawrence Bank, today announced the appointment of Michael Williams as president. Volunteer is one of two community banking divisions of Lawrence Bank. Together with F&M, the divisions operate under a single Lawrence Bank charter while continuing to serve customers through their long-established local brands in their respective markets.

As president, Williams will lead the Volunteer division, building on its strong legacy while advancing growth and preserving the local decision-making and relationship-driven service that have distinguished the Volunteer brand for generations.

A Middle Tennessee native, Williams brings nearly 25 years of banking experience in the Nashville market. Since joining Volunteer in November 2023 as regional market president for Davidson and Williamson counties, he has helped lead commercial banking, portfolio management, and retail operations across Middle Tennessee. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions with Reliant Bank, Renasant Bank, InsBank, and United Community Bank.

Williams earned a bachelor's degree in business and organization management from Maryville College, where he was a four-year letterman and captain of the men's soccer team. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership. In addition, he has completed executive and commercial banking leadership programs through the Tennessee Bankers Association and Belmont University.

His professional achievements include being recognized as a Nashville Business Journal Emerging Leader in Financial Services and graduating from Leadership Brentwood and Leadership Middle Tennessee.

Active in the community, Williams serves on the Board of Directors for the Adventure Science Center and volunteers with the Connections Team at Bridge Church in Spring Hill. He previously served on the Executive Board of the Boys & Girls Club of South-Central Tennessee, where he chaired the Resource Development Committee, and has also served on the board of Interfaith Dental Clinic.

Williams' appointment reflects Lawrence Bank's continued investment in strong local leadership, ensuring the Volunteer division remains well positioned to deliver relationship-driven banking while supporting the long-term growth and success of the Middle Tennessee communities it serves.
